A Meta - Analysis on the Variables Related to the Job Satisfaction of Care Helpers

Abstract
This study, based on the previous studies from 2008 when the care helper system began to2014, investigated the effect size of the variables related to the care helpers¡¯ job satisfactionthrough a meta-analysis. As the object of study, 83 masters and doctoral theses and academicjournals, which are capable of change in effect size, were selected for the analysis. As a result,the effect sizes of personal characteristics, internal variable in organization, external variable inorganization, and duty were statistically significant, which the internal variable in organizationdisplayed a large effect size, with the remaining 3 variables displayed medium effect sizes. Among the sub-variables of personal characteristics variable group, self-efficacy displayed thelargest effect size, and physical condition displayed a noteworthy effect size compared to othervariable groups. The largest effect size in internal variable in organization was seen inorganizational commitment, and the relationship with superiors or coworkers showed noteworthyeffect sizes. In the external variable in organization, promotion displayed the largest effect size,with the opportunity for education, job stability, compensation and welfare, and wage level alsodisplayed noteworthy effect sizes. Job burnout displayed the largest effect size in job variables,along with job stress and job ambiguity showing considerable effect sizes. The result ofmeta-analysis on the variables related to care helpers by the years did not show statisticallysignificant differences.
